As a long-term Argyll resident, Lindsay has been researching and writing books for around twenty years now and has always been interested in obscure local history. Her late dad was a police constable, so she grew up almost surrounded by true crime books, and when doing some local history research many years ago, she kept coming across references to a gang of highwaymen who haunted the roads of Argyll. No-one had put their (or more importantly their victim’s) stories into print though, so she thought she’d have a go, and the rest as they say, is history. Lindsay’s books are all perfectly true, all within Argyll, and written so as to be readable by locals and visitors alike. She site-visits for all the crimes described, and work from original trial notes, using modern forensic theories and discoveries, modern research techniques and local knowledge to sometimes find aspects of a crime that haven’t been touched on since the incident happened, or offer new ideas about a cold case.
