Sally lives just outside Oban and started making jewellery as a hobby in 2011, initially working with glass beads and handmade lampwork beads. In 2012, she rediscovered polymer clay and quickly fell in love with its endless creative possibilities.
Every piece made is handcrafted with care. Polymer clay is a versatile modelling material that comes in a wide range of colours and feels similar to plasticine. It can be shaped, blended, and manipulated in countless ways before being cured in an oven to create a lightweight, durable finish.
One of her favourite techniques is cane making, where layers of coloured clay are combined to create a pattern that runs all the way through, rather like a stick of rock. Thin slices are then cut from the cane, revealing intricate designs, from simple geometric shapes to detailed flowers, tartans, and images, making each handmade piece truly unique.
