Following retirement from the NHS in 2005, Walter and his wife moved to St Andrews where they ran a charity tearoom and gallery for many years. In 2024, they retired again and moved to Oban.
Over the years, most of Walter’s work has been in watercolour as he likes the purity of that medium. However, at the moment, he paints mostly using acrylics with occasional forays into mixed media, watercolour, pastels and oils.
Any proceeds from sales of his artwork goes to charity.
